Texas-based Holistic Planning, a registered investment advisor, has developed its own AI-powered operating system, HolisticOS, in partnership with Altruist. This move aims to streamline the operations of financial advisors by integrating various essential functions into a single platform. The system, which will be available to Holistic's in-house advisors and unaffiliated RIAs, includes account opening, CRM, portfolio analysis, messaging, compliance, money movement, e-signature, tax and estate planning, and marketing capabilities. It will only integrate with Altruist, Microsoft, and Zoom, with the rest of the functionality built using Claude, an AI tool from Anthropic.
The development of HolisticOS was inspired by Jason Barber, the founder and CEO of Holistic Planning and Uptick Partners, his experience leaving Edward Jones and the perceived lack of technological advancements in the independent space. He believes that the concept of a 'tech stack' is outdated, as it requires advisors to navigate multiple logins and systems, which can be cumbersome and time-consuming. The integration of real-time APIs with Altruist's custodial infrastructure is a significant improvement, allowing advisors to perform various tasks, such as sending money, updating beneficiaries, and opening accounts, without leaving the platform.
One of the key advantages of HolisticOS is its in-house AI agent, which sets it apart from Altruist's Hazel. This AI agent will enhance the platform's capabilities and provide personalized assistance to advisors. Additionally, Holistic Planning's decision to move its alternatives business to Altruist has been seamless, thanks to the digital process and the 90-second transfer of a client from Schwab to Altruist. This ease of transition highlights the efficiency and user-friendly nature of Altruist's services.
